José Alejandro Betancur requested (in comments) that I make a PDF of my Agile Testing slides available. Here they are. For those of you who were hoping to follow along with the Google Video talk, you’ll be disappointed: this is the most up to date version of the slides, not the version I presented at Google. Of course, I think the latest version is an improvement, so I hope you’ll forgive me.

Loved this talk, but I have a couple questions. To give a bit of background I have worked for a subcontractor of honeywell, but have since moved to web/systems development. A couple of problems I face in terms of going completely agile are as follows.

How does one get paid for agile development without a hourly wage? it would seem that the entire process takes longer and perhaps that is why I have not experienced the benifit. I am still curious though.

When you do convert to pure XP, how do you generate your requirements? I can see how this is a ’stupid’ question, but I feel it needs to be answered. Lets say you were given a semi-complete spec of a project, how would you treat that in XP terms. As another question if you had started with the waterfall method, how would you convert to agile?

What is the difference between what I have done and an agilist? how can I correct this to gain momentum?

Hello, I watched the conference on Youtube and I found it very very interesting, thanks!! You are great & Agile methodologies are great too ;)
Actually, I am starting learning about Scrum and I would like to have some advices, cuz I am lauching now a project using Scrum method, but I don’t really get it til now!!

Need help, thankxxx

Elisabeth,

I completed my SCRUM Master certification last spring of 2007 and this year I had the opportunity to work on an Agile software development project.

It’s very challenging in having to change my 12+ years of traditional test thought process. I’m still assessing and adopting the Agile methodology with an open mind and thank you for sharing during your “YOUTUBE AGILE TESTING” presentation.

Enjoyed the YouTube presentation and Slide Deck on Agile Testing. My background is that of a Traditional Tester and certainly see value added to the Agile Testing approach. Nice to know that accountablity now spreads to the ‘Team’ rather than to a particual group. Also, like the concept that testing come in play at the start of the Software Life Cycle rather than pushed towards the end. Excellent presenation - Thank You!
